Angel’s Cove & Waterfall Walk

Grade: * A pleasant morning or afternoon outing.

Time in Hours Outward: 1.5hrs

Time in Hours total: 3.5hrs

This valley is one of the areas where people tend to avoid, due to its apparent inaccessibility, which of course is not the case.  This walk can be done by anyone; it is one that has a magnificent solitude to it, in addition to wonderful scenery.  One can turn back at any point, so it is ideal for anyone.

Take the road out of the Lodge, back to the intersection, where a path can be found traveling in a westerly direction.  This part of the Fika Patso Trail, which leads down to the dam.  The path crosses a stream with a waterfall and then proceeds down a fairly steep gradient to the dam itself.  Angel’s Cove is a short excursion off this path near the base.  It is just over 5 kilometres, but the return trip is somewhat steep, so allow sufficient time for this, as one always tends to go further than intended.  Plenty of water!

All hikes are available to be done with or without a guide. Guides are available on request.
