Re-development has started
May 12, 2010It's with such happiness that we report that re-development has started at Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge.
At first you will note the "small" things ... new winter sheets and comforters for the beds, heaters and properly working bed-side lamps. New crockery, cutlery and glassware for the dining room. Then there's a satellite-link for a permanent phone line so that online services can be used, and a working PC with printer, scanner and fax. In addition, "small" fixes like broken windows have been dealt with immediately.
With these "things" comes the appointment of a new management team: Tony Birkholz (tony@tfpd.co.za) and Lize Du Plessis (lize@tfpd.co.za) who were so keen to get going, that they moved in before the start date! They will have as their team the existing staff, all of whom have elected to stay and work under the new management. It was the passion of the existing team, lead by Patricia Mota, that kept Witsieshoek going, even when there were no funds to pay salaries.
Meanwhile, in the background, the "major" redevelopment issues are moving: the necessary permissions are being acquired for the reconstruction and development required; architectural and structural plans are being drawn up and guest-friendly activities and options developed.
So come and visit us soon! We are open and ready for business, and look forward to meeting old, and making new, friends.
